Phone scams are on the rise in Hong Kong, leaving many locals, as well as newcomers working or studying in the city, feeling deeply disturbed.
Today, one of our editors at DotDotNews received a scam call from someone claiming to be from the "Immigration Department".
The call offered a choice between Cantonese and Mandarin for further assistance. However, despite selecting Cantonese, the scammer still greeted our editor in Mandarin, which immediately raised suspicions.
