According to the post, over 40,000 prizes are up for grabs, with a total value exceeding HK$3 million. Prizes include a brand-new electric car, smartphones, credit card spending credits, airline tickets, hotel stays, jewelry, home appliances, and lifestyle vouchers.
This event will begin on Oct. 1. Citizens who download the "Scameter" app and complete specified tasks will be eligible to participate in the prize draw through a connected game website.
Police have recorded 24,407 fraud cases in the first seven months of this year, marking an increase of 2,609 cases (12%) compared to the same period last year. Although the rise in cases has slowed, the threat posed by scammers remains a growing concern for the public.
