Trump holds first event since apparent assassination attempt
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday (local time) made his first public appearance since Sunday's second apparent assassination attempt against him.
While attending the event, Trump said that being president is a dangerous profession and safety must be ensured, CCTV News reported.
He also said that the Democratic presidential candidate, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, called him on the 17th (local time) and asked about him, for which Trump said he was grateful.
On the afternoon of the 15th, Trump was involved in an attempted stabbing while playing golf at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The man involved in the case, Ryan Wesley Routh, was charged with two federal gun-related charges on the 16th. Findings released on the same day showed that Rouse was outside the golf course for nearly 12 hours, and was discovered by U.S. Secret Service agents before he was able to shoot. It is unclear what his motive was.
