HK Express: Flight numbers have returned to pre-pandemic levels since full border reopening
Since the full reopening of borders last year, it has taken just seven months for the airline's flight numbers to return to pre-pandemic levels, said Mandy Ng, the CEO of Hong Kong Express.
She noted that by Sept. 24, the number of flights is expected to reach 1.6 times the pre-pandemic figure, with a target of increasing to 1.8 times by the end of the year.
Ng also highlighted that HK Express currently serves 28 destinations, including Hiroshima, Japan, which will launch on Nov. 1; Penang, Malaysia, starting on Nov. 21; and Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, beginning on Dec. 6.
Since the introduction of a four-tiered luggage policy in May this year, boarding times have shortened, and delays have been reduced. About 50% of passengers have opted for the new "Ultra Lite" and "Essential" fare options.
Ng denied that this is a disguised price increase and emphasized that it simply provides passengers with more choices.
