The US General Services Administration, which runs the voter registration website, said within less than a day of Taylor Swift's post, over 337,000 people had visited the voter registration site Vote.gov through the link she shared.

The website had averaged around 40,000 daily visits over the previous month.

According to AFP, American pop icon Taylor Swift posted on Instagram on the 10th, urging first-time voters to register to vote, while publicly endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The post has since garnered over 10 million likes.

Less than 24 hours after her endorsement of Harris, Swift reiterated her call for fans to register to vote and participate in the upcoming election when she attended the MTV Video Music Awards on the 11th.
