The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is hosting a "People and Pets in Celebration of the National Day" carnival, allowing pets and their owners to enjoy the fun.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Central and Western District Promenade (Central section) and Tamar Park.

The "Cute Pet Parade and Grooming Competition" will take place at the pet park located on the Central and Western District Promenade (Central section). Pet owners are invited to dress their pets in National Day-themed costumes and parade them.

Prizes such as "Best Pet Costume" and "Best Owner-Pet Pair" will be awarded, with participants receiving a certificate of participation and souvenirs at no cost.

Registration is open from Sept. 12 to Sept. 18. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees can also enjoy a variety of performances including dragon and lion dances, martial arts, aerobics, Chinese folk dances, and fancy rope skipping. There will also be family games, Chinese cultural art workshops, and orienteering activities at the park, promising a day full of excitement.

Following the impressive achievements of the Hong Kong team at the Paris Olympics, an exhibition showcasing the accomplishments of outstanding Hong Kong athletes will also be featured.

 

Registration for pet costume: Sept. 12, 8:30 a.m. to Sept. 18, 11:59 p.m.

Carnival time: Sept. 22, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Slots available: 25 groups

Cost: Free

Check-in and bib collection: Participants must arrive at the venue by 10 a.m. on the day of the event to check in and collect their number bib.

Awards:

- "Best Pet Costume Award" with first, second, and third places

- "Best Owner-Pet Pair Award" with first, second, and third places
