Today (Sept. 2) marks primary and secondary students' first day of school. Many parents and students left home early, and several bus routes operated special services in the morning to accommodate the transportation needs of students returning to school.
The Transport Department reminded students yesterday that traffic is expected to be busier on the first day of school.
Students should leave home early to avoid delays in getting to school and pay attention to road safety when traveling to and from school. They should correctly use pedestrian crossing facilities when crossing the road and should not eat, play video games, use mobile phones, or listen to music through headphones while crossing.
