Chris Tang: Shared spirit of athletes and discipline forces
Today (August 30), the Olympic athlete delegation of the national team began the second day of their visit to Hong Kong. The athletes split into groups to meet with local athletes, students, and citizens. Among them, 22 athletes visited the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy to engage in demonstrations and exchanges with the discipline forces and youth uniformed groups.
Secretary for Security Chris Tang expressed his honor and excitement regarding the mainland athletes' visit in his speech. He shared a touching moment involving his favorite weightlifter, Li Wenwen, who embraced her coach after winning a gold medal at the Olympics.
Tang highlighted that the national team's resilience, exceptional skills, and dedication to the nation reflect the same spirit found within Hong Kong's discipline forces. He emphasized that this shared ethos of perseverance and commitment embodies the essence of the athletes and the disciplined forces.
