Pan Zhanle: Young people should strive to win honors for nation with no fear of difficulties
The Paris Olympic National Team delegation arrived in Hong Kong today (August 29) to kick off a three-day visit.
The delegation held a media briefing at the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui in the afternoon, with men's 100-meter freestyle gold medalist Pan Zhanle sitting in the rightmost position of the last row.
A reporter asked Pan Zhanle what kind of spirit and qualities the new generation of young people should have.
Pan replied, "Don't be afraid of hardship, and strive for glory for the nation."
As for how he would be a good role model, Pan said he would first train himself well and, after maturing a bit more, start to be a role model for others.
