'iAM Smart Personal Code' to be used in property management for visitor registration
Nowadays, Hong Kong property management companies usually require the public to provide identity cards to verify their identity when they enter private buildings. However, many people feel that their privacy has been infringed upon.
To protect privacy, iAM Smart launched the "iAM Smart Personal Code" yesterday (Aug. 28), which can be used in property management for visitor registration.
Users can verify their identity through the Code without showing their identity card. It will only display partial personal data, such as age group and part of the English name.
The Code will first be used in three newly completed private housing estates as a pilot scheme. Depending on the industry's response and its effectiveness, it will be further promoted or updated.
It is expected that the Code will be extended to access control systems early next year.
