CE expresses gratitude to public for braving rain to come to district consultation forum
Chief Executive John Lee is about to deliver his third Policy Address in office and held his first district consultation forum in Tai Po today (Aug. 18).
Lee thanked more than 100 members of the public who had braved the rain to participate in the two-hour discussion.
He said that the government had attached importance to the district consultation on the Policy Address, which would help focus public attention on the areas of concern when the policies were implemented.
"During the consultation period, every member of the public's views would be seriously explored, and if they did not have the opportunity to speak, they could also provide written submissions, which would be carefully scrutinized one by one by the government in the hope that they would express their views without reservation."
Lee added that all accountability team members, except for the Secretary for Justice and the Secretary for the Environment and Ecology, who were out of town, were already present at the scene to participate in the discussion.
It is understood that Lee and the Secretaries will have in-depth exchanges with members of the public in the form of small group discussions centering on the themes of "building a vibrant economy" and "improving people's livelihood".
