Watch This | Appetite matters! Food Expo welcomes gourmets today
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Food Expo kicked off today (Aug. 15). It will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai for five consecutive days, with a total of about 700 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions.
Various exhibitors have introduced new products and a "1 dollar discount" to attract public consumption and organized on-site cocktail tastings. Some chicken pot sellers said that they had adjusted the average price of their products this year and introduced small-sized soup packs at one-third of the price in the hope of attracting more customers. Some vendors also offer more discounts and cocktails made with Chinese white wine for tasting.
The Food Expo will hold daily lucky draws for prizes such as kitchenware and gourmet food, with a total value of more than half a million dollars. Admission will be limited to five raffle prizes per receipt for HK$200 or more purchases.
This time, our journalist interviewed some officials and merchants in the HKCEC about the Expo and different products. Let's take a look!
