The men's individual triathlon race at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was held yesterday (July 31) at 4:45 pm Hong Kong time. Unfortunately, Hong Kong athlete Jason Ng's jersey was torn during the race, affecting his performance and resulting in his failure to finish the race.

Ng revealed that he could still keep up with the main group of athletes in the early part of the race, but when he swam to the bottom of the first bridge in the race section, someone reached behind him and pulled his jersey from the back to his shoulder, causing the zipper at the back of his jersey to burst and the river water rushed into him, thus affecting his performance.

As seen on the scene, Ng tried his best to adjust his jersey before going ashore after the first lap but failed. As he was already lagging behind, Ng withdrew from the game with three laps left in the cycling event and was unable to finish the race.

Ng said that he was confident that he could compete with some of the other athletes, but unfortunately, he did not have the chance to do so.
