Watch This | Silent complicity: The Gaza tragedy and our choices
By Chuan Lung
In a distant corner of this world, the flames of war and the anguish of suffering intertwine, creating a heart-wrenching tableau. The cries from Gaza resonate like distant echoes, or perhaps they are the unutterable pains that linger in our hearts. As those in power strive to impose this so-called "new normal", we must ask ourselves: how do we choose? Do we submit in silence, or do we summon the courage to reject it?
Those in power want us to adapt to this grim reality, to learn to avert our eyes from the atrocities, and even to numb ourselves to the horror. But what kind of adaptation is this? Isn't it the most profound betrayal of our humanity?
