Hong Kong Palace Museum to increase ticket prices in August with adult tickets HK$70

The Hong Kong Palace Museum has announced that starting from August 15, the timed entry general admission ticket price will be adjusted. The price for adult tickets, which provide access to all special exhibitions in Gallery 1 to 7, will increase from HK$60 to HK$70, with concessionary tickets set at HK$35.

However, the ticket prices for the current special exhibitions, including "The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770–1910 from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris" and "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: YUAN MING YUAN—Art and Culture of an Imperial Garden-Palace," as well as the full Access Ticket (Gallery 1–9), will remain unchanged.

The museum has stated that the prices for the four annual membership categories of HKPM Friends will remain the same. Future pricing for special exhibitions will be announced in due course.

A spokesperson for the museum noted that the price adjustment helps to address rising costs and ensures the museum's sustainable operation. The museum aims to balance sustainable operations and affordability for the public and tourists.

The museum will continue to seek sponsorships and reserve specific tickets for underprivileged groups in the coming year. Collaborations with corporations, social welfare organizations, and community groups will also be arranged to facilitate visits by underprivileged individuals and students to the museum, the spokesperson said.
