Hong Kong Tramways will collaborate with the animated character McDull to host an exhibition and activities at Central Market from July 31 to Sept. 8 to celebrate its 120th anniversary.
The first 120 visitors who show their ID cards containing the numbers "7, 3, 0" to staff will receive a special gift during the event.
At the first-floor entrance of Central Market, there will be a life-sized "Ding Ding Cat" and a treasure hunt game card. McDull-themed photo spots will be scattered throughout the market, and visitors can collect stamps to exchange for prizes, with a limit of 1,000 prizes available.
The ground floor atrium will feature a limited-edition merchandise shop and family-friendly booths. Family booths will offer visitors free games such as a giant Jenga and a tram maze game.
The ground floor will include a tram history section and a selfie booth. The history section will have exhibits introducing the development of trams, while the selfie booth will feature McDull-themed frames that will be available for a limited time.
On the second floor, there will be a tram postcard station and a stall selling tram-themed Hong Kong-style drinks and snacks.
Starting on Aug. 1, the tram company will sell limited-edition Octopus cards of McDull.
