The Legislative Council held its 16th Ante Chamber exchange session, attended by Secretary for Justice Paul Lam, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau, and other officials.
The government expressed its hope to engage with legislators on Hong Kong's participation in and support for the Belt and Road Initiative, leveraging the advantages of the standard law system. Discussions included how Hong Kong can utilize its strengths to contribute to the Belt and Road's innovation and technology development and how to enhance competitiveness to attract investment from Belt and Road economies.
