
The Kwai Chung Division received a report the night before last (July 10) from a 70-year-old victim who suspected that her unit in Shek Yam East Estate had been burglarized.
A 24-inch television and its remote control were missing from the unit, and the spare key, usually kept in the mailbox, was also gone.
After an in-depth investigation, the Kwai Chung Division's task force identified a suspicious woman, suspected of stealing the victim's mail and unit key from the mailbox earlier.
Last night (July 11) around 8 PM, officers intercepted the woman and her male companion in a building in the same estate. A search of their residence recovered the stolen television and the victim's spare unit key. Additionally, a telescopic baton and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine were found in the unit.
The 44-year-old local woman, surnamed Lau, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft, possession of offensive weapon, and possession of dangerous drugs.
A 34-year-old local man, surnamed Leung, and a 41-year-old local woman, surnamed Yuen, were also arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapon and possession of dangerous drugs.
All suspects are currently being detained for investigation.
