The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) issued a Very Hot Weather Warning this morning (July 3) and urged the public to drink sufficient water.
According to the HKO, the urban areas will reach a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius, and the New Territories will be one or two degrees higher.
The HKO also predicted that the subtropical ridge will bring generally fine and persistently very hot weather to southeastern China for the rest of this week. As the subtropical ridge slightly weakens and under the influence of a southerly airstream, there will be a few showers along the coast of Guangdong early next week, but the weather will remain very hot.
