China Coast Guard monitors Philippines' transfers of supplies to illegally stranded ships at Sabina Shoal

Liu Dejun, spokesperson for the China Coast Guard, announced that on July 1, the Philippines deployed three Coast Guard vessels to transfer personnel and supplies to their stranded ship BRP Teresa Magbanua at Sabina Shoal. The China Coast Guard monitored and managed the entire process.

Liu emphasized that China has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands, including the Sabina Shoal and the surrounding waters. The presence of Philippine vessels at Sabina Shoal violates China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights, contravenes the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC), and undermines peace and stability in the region. China firmly opposes these actions.

The China Coast Guard will continue to exercise its rights to enforce the law and protect national territorial sovereignty and maritime interests within its jurisdiction, according to the spokesperson.
