
The preliminary visitor arrivals figure for May was 3.4 million, a year-on-year increase of 20%, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced yesterday (June 17).
Among them, the number of mainland visitors was about 15% more than the same period last year, recording 2.63 million, while the number of non-mainland visitors increased by 43% year-on-year to 770,000 last month.
Cumulatively, a total of 18 million visitor arrivals to Hong Kong were recorded from January to May this year, representing a year-on-year increase of about 80%.
