An incident occurred at noon today (June 13) at the Tung Chung Station Bus Terminus, when a New Lantao Bus No. 11 lost control and swept away a line of railings on the roadside.
It has been reported that there were more than 20 passengers on board the bus at the time of the incident, and firemen were called to the scene to assist them in alighting from the bus through the escape door at the rear of the vehicle.
A teenager sustained a shoulder injury in the accident and was taken to hospital by an ambulance for treatment.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Photos circulating on the Internet show that the left side of the Lantau bus was badly damaged, and the railings were deformed and collapsed by the side of the road.
