Zhang Hu: GBA contributes one-ninth of China's economic output
The Greater Bay Area (GBA) has contributed one-ninth of China's economic output after five years of effort, said Zhang Hu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Guangdong Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Guangdong province.
At the briefing, Zhang Hu pointed out that the GBA's economic output has grown from RMB10.8 trillion in 2018 to over RMB14 trillion in 2023.
He emphasized that the GBA, with less than 0.6% of China's total land area, has produced one-ninth of the national economic output, demonstrating the region's potential for high-quality development and institutional advantages and vitality of the "one country, two systems" policy.
