All platform screen doors at Tai Wai Station will come into service from today (May 30), the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) announced.
Together with Racecourse Station, Lok Ma Chau Station, Sheung Shui Station, Sha Tin Station, and Tai Po Market Station, the installation of screen doors at the six stations on the East Rail Line has been completed and all doors are now in service.
According to the MTRCL, the target of completing the installation works at four stations within the first half of this year has been achieved, and it is now actively pushing forward the installation progress of the remaining stations, with the target of completing the installation of screen doors at nine stations within this year.
During the works, MTRCL will deploy platform assistants to maintain order and help passengers in need.
The Corporation has also put in place safety facilities to advise passengers not to stand near the platform edge or trespass on the tracks.
