The Hong Kong Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Creation Association will hold an exhibition at the exhibition gallery of Hong Kong Central Library from May 23 to 27, showing paintings, calligraphy, and other works of Chen Ziyi and Yu Yuan-chia, two well-known artists in Chinese painting, as well as their apprentices.
Having devoted his life to Chinese culture and arts, Chen was well versed in the techniques of Chinese painting, focusing on creating moods and constructing scenes in a creative manner. His works have been exhibited all over the country, mainly focusing on flowers, birds and landscapes.

As Chen's disciple and son-in-law, Yu studied life drawing and created a 300-meter-long scroll depicting a panoramic view of Hong Kong in the 1980s and 1990s, one of his greatest works. The scroll, A Panorama of Hong Kong on scrolls, acts as a record of a specific period in Hong Kong's history.
Also on display are two large-scale works by the two painters, both of which have plum blossoms as their theme.
In addition to the works of the two which have never been exhibited before, the exhibition also included works by Yu's apprentices. The exhibition of works by three generations on the same stage signifies the transmission of Chinese culture and techniques.
