Amap launches ride-hailing service in HK, offering up to HKD20 discount on weekdays
Recently, Amap, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group, announced that its ride-hailing service has officially launched in Hong Kong, providing a convenient transportation option for local and mainland tourists.
Users can download the Amap app or search for "Amap" on AlipayHK to input their destination and book a ride with just one click. They may also have the chance to receive high-value coupons daily, with a full cover of HKD60 on weekends for a discounted ride.
It is understood that Amap's ride-hailing service in Hong Kong results from in-depth cooperation with local taxi companies, adopting a similar "online and offline integration" model as in mainland China. This allows traditional hailing taxis to be equipped with online booking functions. Users can choose from multiple taxi brands on the platform, including local quality service providers.
In terms of payment methods, users have the option of cash payment and more convenient electronic payment.
To attract more users, Amap has also launched a series of promotional activities. Among them, high-value coupons can provide up to HKD20 in discounts on weekday rides and a HKD60 coupon package on weekends for discounted travel.
For users with different needs, the customized service function on Amap also allows them to choose options such as carrying luggage, bringing pets, or selecting a five-seat vehicle.
This initiative undoubtedly provides Hong Kong citizens and mainland tourists a more affordable travel option.
Currently, Hong Kong and mainland users can use the Amap ride-hailing service in both Hong Kong and mainland China without switching accounts or ride-hailing apps, genuinely realizing the "bidirectional interconnection" of a single app.
