Connecting Dots | Not ready to embrace MSW Charging Scheme: FIBA 3x3 Village stall owners share reservations

The 3x3 Village, a carnival-like event organized by FIBA, featured a city sports experience zone, FIBA-standard 3x3 basketball courts, food stalls, retail booths, urban creative culture, and tattoo art.

In this episode, we interviewed the food and beverage stall owners at the FIBA 3x3 Village event, to hear their opinions on the MSW Charging Scheme that is scheduled to be fully implemented by August 1.

The responses varied, with some stall owners expressing disapproval towards the scheme, stating, "Just cancel it."

More moderate responses expressed that, "There is still a lack of information", indicating their desire to be better informed so as to respond accordingly.

Only a few responses expressed full support for the scheme, which reflects how more work needs to be done before the scheme can truly shine through.

One common concern raised by the majority of stall owners was the issue of costs. They would need to spend more on designated bags and labels for proper waste disposal, increasing their production expenses.

Watch the video to catch some highlights of the event and hear them out!
