
Crowds flocked to Cheung Chau on Wednesday to experience the vibe at the annual Bun Festival. Between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. this morning, there were about 13,600 passenger trips from Central to Cheung Chau, according to Sun Ferry.
The service company said it has increased the number of sailings from Central to Cheung Chau by more than two times compared with the average number of sailings on weekdays, arranging an average of four to five sailings per hour to take passengers to Cheung Chau to participate in the parade to be held at about 1:30 pm.
The number of passengers traveling from Central to Cheung Chau has increased by about 23% over the same period last year, it noted.
According to Sun Ferry, at present, passengers traveling from Central to Cheung Chau have to wait for a longer time to board the ferry. The frequency and departure time of the ferry will be adjusted according to the situation on the spot.
