The Transport Department today opened applications for 1,000 regular quotas for Hong Kong cross-boundary non-commercial private cars using the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) to Macau (Hong Kong quotas).

On June 30, the 1,000 quotas allocated from July 2021 will expire. Of these, 500 are for company applicants and the rest are for individual applicants.

The quotas are valid for no more than three years until June 30, 2027. Those successfully allocated a quota are expected to be able to travel via the HZMB to and from Hong Kong and Macau from July 1 at the earliest.

The eligibility criteria for quota applications remain unchanged. The company quotas are open for companies registered in both Hong Kong and Macau, or companies registered in Hong Kong that are associated with another company registered in Macau.

The quotas for individuals are open to Hong Kong permanent residents employed with remunerations in Macau or those have established a registered company in Macau.

Private cars with valid Hong Kong quotas will be permitted to access Macau multiple times via the HZMB.

Eligible parties can apply for the Hong Kong quotas through the GovHK website until 5.15pm on May 25.
