The 76-year-old Mr. Ho, who gained notoriety for his brief courtship and eventual marriage to a 46-year-old mainland Chinese woman, was the subject of a recent episode of TVB Scoop. The incident has drawn significant attention from various sectors of society, with some dubbing him "ATM Grandpa 2.0" while others support his right to love in his old age. Mr. Ho, with HKD 4.5 million in savings, has been generous in his marriage arrangements and currently resides in a public rental housing (PRH) unit with his new wife. There are also reports indicating that Mr. Ho and his son both have public rental housing units.

In response to media inquiries, the Housing Department issued a late-night statement on the May 9th, stating that they had obtained preliminary information on the public rental housing units through various channels based on extensive media coverage of the case. They are currently investigating the matter. Due to personal data and privacy involvement, detailed information about the case cannot be disclosed at this stage.

The Housing Department emphasized that the Housing Authority has been committed to combating the misuse of public rental housing resources through preventive measures, surveillance, investigative actions, and educational campaigns. They handle every case of public rental housing misuse seriously. The department stressed that if tenants are found to have violated the lease terms related to their residency or provided false information, appropriate contractual measures will be taken by relevant policies.

According to the news, Mr. Ho's daughter allegedly took away his entire retirement fund of HKD 4.5 million. Moreover, his son evicted him from their home, leading Mr. Ho to seek assistance from his eldest daughter, who even threatened to involve the authorities. Following these reports, online discussions have been fervent, with many netizens delving into the background of the Mrs. Ho and accusing her of being a notorious scammer. It has now been revealed that she has fled to mainland China to avoid public scrutiny.

Mr. Ho and his wife appeared on television for an interview, during which netizens estimated the value of Mrs. Ho's attire to be at least HKD 360,000. Furthermore, recent online revelations by local residents shed light on the background of Mrs. Ho, suggesting that she is far from an ordinary woman and maybe a highly skilled con artist.

On Facebook, a netizen disclosed information from official records indicating that Mrs. Ho was born in 1981, making her 43 years old this year, contradicting her claim of being 46 years old. The post read, "Local residents reveal that the woman has returned to mainland China to seek refuge. Mrs. Ho and her associates accuse others of defaming her, but neighbors claim she owns a property in mainland China and even wrote her son's name on it."

The informant stated, "The background of Mrs. Ho is that this is her third marriage. Mr. Ho, 76 years old, is her second husband in Hong Kong. Her previous husband was also an older man, and she divorced him after obtaining her identification documents, securing a public rental housing unit in the process. She has a son living in mainland China who owns the property, but her assets are untraceable. Her first marriage in mainland China occurred when she was in her twenties and had a child. After divorcing, she found another opportunity in Hong Kong to obtain identification documents." This revelation unveils the mystery surrounding the background of Mrs. Ho. However, as the informant's claims lack substantial evidence, netizens remain skeptical about their veracity.
