A 31-year-old Hong Kong man has been jailed for six months for voyeurism after disguising himself as a pupil and entering a female toilet in a school to plant a hidden camera.

Cheung Chun-hong, a senior operations officer at Citybus, had seriously invaded the privacy of the pupils at Good Hope School in Wong Tai Sin, Principal Magistrate Ko Wai-hung said on Wednesday (April 17).

Cheung was sentenced at Kowloon City Magistrates' Court to half a year in jail on three charges of voyeurism.

Ko considered that Cheung had a medium-to-high possibility of committing similar crimes again and that the sentence should reflect the community's distaste for the charge and the protection of minors' privacy.

The court heard that in October of last year, while wearing makeup and the school uniform, he had surreptitiously entered a female restroom at the girls' school.

In addition to finding Cheung in the restroom, two students also uncovered a cell phone he had hidden inside the stall.

Following the students' confrontation with Cheung, he fled the area. Four days later, he was apprehended at an industrial facility in San Po Kong.

After inspecting the location and his Tseung Kwan O house, officers discovered sixteen sets of girls' school uniforms, feminine undergarments, wigs, and makeup.
