The first fund-raising marathon to loop around the Hong Kong Harbour will take place on April 13.
The Harbour Marathon will kick off at HarbourChill of Wanchai with a CEO Run by CEOs and top executives from various sectors. It will be followed by
relays of corporate teams to complete the 42-km marathon. With the inauguration ceremony scheduled at 9.45 am on April 13, the event has been planned between 10 am and 6 pm. HarbourChill has also been designated the finishing point.
With the route covering the waterfronts, runners will be able to enjoy not only the views of the Hong Kong Harbour but also the sights of different districts as they cut through them. A carnival with sports activities and games has been planned on marathon day at HarbourChill for participants and their friends and family. Spectators can also enjoy photo opportunities with the runners.
The inaugural BOC Life Hong Kong Harbour Marathon is being organized in partnership with Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVhk) with support from the Harbourfront Commission and the Energizing Kowloon East Office of the HKSAR Government's Development Bureau.
Through public participation and cross-sector collaboration, this event aims at raising funds to support RunOurCity Foundation and St. James' Settlement's youth development and STEAM education projects.
