The four-day Easter holiday started yesterday (March 29). As of 9 pm last night, there were 1.03 million passenger trips, of which about 760,000 were departure trips, with Hong Kong residents accounting for about 680,000 trips, and 597,000 HK people going north to Mainland by land, which is a record high after the epidemic.
All boundary control points were swarming with people, with the West Kowloon station, Lo Wu, Shenzhen Bay and the Lok Ma Chau Points all bursting at the seams.
The Transport Department expected that today (March 30) will still be the peak holiday travel period, and depending on the traffic situation, special traffic arrangements may be implemented at the Shenzhen Bay Port.
