Hong Kong's Legislative Council on Tuesday (March 19) convened a special meeting to resume its second reading of the proposed Safeguarding National Security Ordinance today.
NPP LegCo Member Dominic Lee expressed his will to accomplish the mission of fortifying the city with the Ordinance.
According to Lee, national security laws are not something that's unique to Hong Kong; they are a global standard and a crucial element of any society that holds dear its peace and its people's safety. He also described Western politicians like Chris Patten and David Cameron's criticism of the legislation as "hypocritical" for they turned a blind eye to more severe laws.
"We will advance with courage; we will lead forward with determination; we will turn every obstacle into stepping stone; we will make Hong Kong reach new heights; we will build a proud legacy for generations to come," he noted.
