Wang Huning, the chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), emphasized the importance of furthering reform and opening up the nation in his work report, which he presented on Monday (March 4) at the opening of China's top political advisory body's annual session.
The state leader also spoke about pushing ahead with high-quality development and ensuring social stability.
On Hong Kong and Macau, Wang said the CPPCC helped youth in the two SARs to better integrate into the country’s development in the past year.
President Xi Jinping and other state leaders attended the opening of the CPPCC at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The annual session of the top advisory body runs from March 4 to March 10.
