A female netizen from the Mainland shared on the famous social media platform Xiaohongshu the heartwarming things she encountered in Hong Kong. She said that when she was having trouble getting things done in Hong Kong and was feeling down, she was cured by an old couple in Hong Kong. "I was really warmed up by them", she said, "the more times I've been to Hong Kong, the more I like this city."
A few days ago, the owner of the blog posted an article in Xiaohongshu under the title of "I've been cured by Hong Kong" and uploaded a picture of fireworks at Hong Kong Disneyland. She mentioned that her work in Hong Kong was not very smooth and described her mood as "a bit down", but she was cured by an elderly couple in Hong Kong, who were "so friendly to me, a stranger from the Mainland, and didn't have the slightest suspicion to help me", and pointed out that this kind of "righteousness and courage" is already very, very rare in the Mainland.
She felt more than lucky to have met several Hong Kong people who were so kind. "I don't dare to help strangers in Mainland China for fear of being ripped off," she told her friends.
Some netizens shared their own experiences under the blog. One of them noted, "I also think that Hong Kong people are especially nice... every time I bring my baby to public transport, someone will offer me a seat. My dad once stood on the street resting with his suitcase in tow, and someone ran across the street to ask him if he needed help. It was so warm!"
A netizen also recalled, "We lost our way and a stranger enthusiastically checked the map for us twice. We didn't want to bother him too much, so we said thank you and kept walking, but he came all the way to tell us the route again."
The owner of the blog also replied, "The small gesture of kindness is really heartwarming."
