Travelers wait at least one hour for bus at HZMB control point
The passenger flow of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) today has increased substantially. The Transport Department (TD) pointed out that the traffic around the Zhuhai Boundary Crossing Facilities (BCF) of the HZMB is busy, and a large number of travelers at the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF) were waiting for a ride on the Golden Buses (GMBs), which had already strengthened its services to cope with the demand of the passengers. On the inbound side, the direct bus service to the urban area was once stretched to the limit, with some mainland travellers saying that they had to wait for at least an hour and could not get on the bus after three buses.
Citybus said that it has noticed an increase in the number of passengers travelling from the control point to the urban area at noon and had immediately arranged extra buses to relieve the situation. Among them, route A21 to the Yau Tsim Mong district provided buses at the closest frequency of about five minutes, while the demand for the remaining Airport Express routes was similar to that of previous holidays, and each bus was sufficient for waiting passengers to get on the bus.
Long Win Bus said that the bus routes to and from the HZMB control points operated normally and there were no long queues of passengers waiting for bus services.
