Inter Miami CF, the American professional soccer team led by "The King of Football" Lionel Messi, arrived in Hong Kong yesterday (February 2) for a four-day visit to Hong Kong. The team will hold an open training session at the Hong Kong Stadium at 5:30 p.m. today.
At around 2:00 pm, a large number of fans who had already purchased tickets lined up at the stadium wearing Argentina or Miami jerseys, waiting to meet their "idols".
From 2:00 p.m., police imposed crowd control and road closure in the vicinity of the stadium, along Caroline Hill Road, Eastern Hospital Road and Cotton Path, where barricades were set up and a large number of police officers were deployed to maintain order.
The police had earlier predicted that 40,000 people would come to the stadium for both today's open drill and tomorrow's exhibition match.
