A cold front has hit Hong Kong this morning (Jan. 23), with the temperature dropping to around 6 degrees Celsius in the urban area and a further two to three degrees in the New Territories, with only 4 degrees in Ta Kwu Ling and Tsuen Wan, and a record of minus 2.2 degrees in Tai Mo Shan.
The Transport Department (TD) announced in the early hours of the morning that all routes of Tai Mo Shan Road in both directions are now closed due to the cold weather. The Fire Services Department urges the public to carefully assess their own abilities before engaging in outdoor activities under severe cold weather, and not to climb the mountain hastily.
