Anhui Province in east China has a historic village that is well-known as a photographer's secret haven. Shitan Village makes an excellent substitute for an idyllic vacation with pristine scenery, despite not being as well-known as some other ancient villages.
The village of Shitan, located in Huangshan City's hilly interior, dates back more than eight centuries.
At the base of the mountain, the Huayuan and Changyuan rivers come together and merge.
The finest months to see the rapeseed flowers in full bloom are March and April. The first salvo of sunflowers opens for the summer. At that time, photographers also swarm to the location to find the best angles.
You can clear your head and concentrate only on the present by taking a stroll down the fragrant flowerbed. You can also take advantage of the hospitality and local specialties by staying at one of the homes of the local families.
To get there, take the train to Shexian North Railway Station. It will take you around an hour to drive there.
