Yesterday (Dec. 24) was the second day of the Christmas holiday for Hong Kong people. According to the Immigration Department, there were over 1.04 million passenger trips at the various control points, with over 633,000 departures and 413,000 arrivals respectively.
The Lo Wu Control Point accounted for the largest number of departures, with 135,000, followed by the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point, with more than 123,000 passenger trips.
The Christmas holiday is the peak season for HK people to travel outside the city, and although it is not a public holiday for mainland people during the Christmas period, many tourists choose to visit HK to enjoy the atmosphere of Christmas.
