Exclusive | Discovering students' strengths: MI education shines at G.T. College
Have you ever heard of the "stereotypes" about Asian parents? Focusing on academic performance, pursuing a stable working & life, and saying that "children should become teachers, lawyers or doctors", all these experiences in traditional Asian societies are gradually becoming incompatible with the internationalization in society and changes of the times. Multiple Intelligences (MI) education, which advocates holistic development and the identification of children's talents, is gradually coming to the forefront.
"In fact, many parents and teachers always try to find out their children's shortcomings......We think this is not a very satisfactory education." The 3rd International MI Education Forum was officially held on Dec. 15 with the collaboration of the principal of G. T. College, Mr. David Chan, teachers, and a group of experts and professors. The College is committed to exploring children's strengths and developing lifelong interests, in addition to academic achievement, which is an important goal of teaching.
What does the term "MI education" mean? What do teachers expect from the new education concept and teaching methods? Are parents in favor of the MI, or are they worried about it? For more information, please watch the video.
