With Christmas and New Year approaching, to make it easier for passengers to go out and celebrate the festive season, the MTR announced today (December 18) that for overnight service, all local railway lines (except journeys to or from Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations on the East Rail Line, Airport Express and Disneyland Resort Line) and seven Light Rail routes (505, 507, 610, 614P, 615P, 706 and 751) will operate throughout Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. MTR buses 506, K51, and K54, meanwhile, will extend their service hours.
Furthermore, from December 17 to January 1, all MTR lines, excluding the Airport Express, will increase train frequency at various time slots. On the Winter Solstice (December 22), most MTR lines will enhance service between 3 and 5 p.m.
