Hong Kong actress Kathy Chow Hoi-mei, who is best known for her lead character Zhou Zhiruo in the 1994 Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) series "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber," has passed away at the age of 57.
Chow passed away on Monday (Dec 11) due to illness, her studio said in a statement published late Tuesday, without providing any details.
She has been suffering from Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), according to sources.
Born Dec. 6, 1966, in Hong Kong, Chow made her debut as an entertainer after losing the Miss Hong Kong pageant contest in 1985. As an actress, model and singer, Chow was widely known for various roles in TVB series during the late 1980s to 1990s.
