To understand the arrangements and preparations for the District Council election, Chief Executive, John Lee Ka-chiu, together with the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Erick Tsang Kwok-wai, and the Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission, Justice David Lok, paid a visit to a polling station in Heng Fa Chuen this morning (December 9). Polling station staff were actively setting up the venue and rehearsing for the final preparations for tomorrow's election.
Polling staff briefed John Lee on the polling procedures and manpower deployment. Some staff even reminded him that electors in geographical constituencies could only put one tick mark on the ballot paper when casting their votes, otherwise the ballot paper would be null and void. With the polling staff well-prepared, Lee is confident that the polling stations will operate smoothly tomorrow.

In addition, today is the Government's "District Election Fun Day", with a number of carnivals taking place in various districts across the territory, free admission to the exhibition halls and venues of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and a large-scale outdoor concert to be held in the West Kowloon Cultural District in the evening, in the hope of further enhancing the community's concern for the election and its atmosphere.

Once again, Lee calls on all voters in Hong Kong to vote actively in tomorrow's District Council election, to vote for the best and the brightest, and to cast an important vote for Hong Kong and for our community.
