Addressing an international legal forum today (Dec. 7), the Chief Executive, John Lee, said Hong Kong's judicial system is internationally renowned.
"The enviable expertise of the legal profession in the areas of international finance and trade, financial and legal dispute resolution, and transaction aggregation services reflect the rule of law practices in HK, which are effective in upholding the international legal order," he added.
As the only common law jurisdiction in China, HK has been working with international legal organizations for many years and has been able to serve as a bridge between mainland China's legal system and other international legal systems, according to Lee.
"We look forward to expanding opportunities for international exchange of jurisprudence and cooperation in legal services in the future," Lee said.
