Central Authorities fully support Hong Kong's efforts to build the city into a base for the training of international legal talents from home and abroad, said a senior official on Thursday (Dec. 7).
Li Yongsheng, Deputy Commissioner of the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign in the Hong Kong SAR, made the remarks at an international law forum today.
As the only common law jurisdiction in China, the HKSAR is compatible with international rules and has an open and well-regulated business environment, which can help the Mainland enhance institutional liberalization and build a new development pattern, Li said.
With the support of the Central Government, Hong Kong has organized a series of international legal events, and a large number of legal professionals from all over the world have settled in Hong Kong, further consolidating Hong Kong's position as a leading international legal and dispute resolution services center in the Asia-Pacific region, he added.
