DC election | Candidates' hard work and enthusiasm make big difference, CE says
The new District Council Ordinary Election will be held on Dec. 10.
Speaking on a radio program today (Dec. 6) on how to select the best candidates in the election, Chief Executive John Lee said that in making their choices, voters should pay attention to the candidates' familiarity with their districts, their diligence and enthusiasm, and stop engaging in "noisy politics".
Lee pointed out that a candidate must be eager to work for the good of the district, while hard work is also very important.
Citing himself as an example, Lee said he wished there were 48 hours in a day so that he could work twice as hard every day. He also said that candidates should be enthusiastic in identifying and reflecting on problems and preferably giving advice on how to solve them.
