Agnes Chow Ting, who was arrested by the National Security Bureau of the police for "colluding with foreign countries or foreign forces to jeopardize national security", blatantly said on social media that she would jump bail and abscond.

The Chief Executive, John Lee, said at a press conference today (Dec. 5) that the HKSAR Government would spare no effort in pursuing any fugitive who endangers national security.

"Chow was arrested by the police on suspicion of colluding with foreign or overseas forces to jeopardize national security, and the police will certainly pursue her with all efforts since she claimed her bail-jumping behavior," Lee said.

Lee also noted that when the police track down any fugitive, will the relevant information be used as evidence for the law enforcement agencies. "The fugitive's deception of sympathy is shameful... the police will learn from experience to ensure that they effectively uphold the rule of law, safeguard national security and combat collusion with outside forces."

Lee mentioned that some Hong Kong people still underestimate the threat to national security posed by foreign forces, and that HK must not forget the pain brought about by the social unrest in 2019.

"Although the wound has healed, it once caused us so much pain that we could hardly sleep, so we must not forget that," he added.
