At the 60th Golden Horse Awards ceremony held on Nov. 25, 69-year-old Brigitte Lin was officially awarded the lifetime achievement award. Lin received the award from Ang Lee, the chairman of the Golden Horse Awards Jury, and was applauded by the audience.
In her speech, Lin said, "I dedicate this award to my mother and father, who have worked so hard for me in filming, and I don't know how much their hearts have been shattered, so they must be very happy in heaven." She also thanked Chiung Yao and Kevin Chu for directing the movie, and Shi Nan-sun and William Chang for being her friends in the movie industry.
Since her entry into the movie industry in the early 1970s, Lin has demonstrated her superb acting ability and unshakeable superstar charisma. In recent years, although she has retreated from the movie industry to focus on her writing, she is still the focus of her fans' attention.
